I want to help keep this going and look forward to another post from some of you. Here is a detail of the finishing technique that Pat demoed. It is a detail of cutting every other warp thread short and weaving its alternated back into the tapestry. I hope this is a useful photo.
Hi Terri,
ReplyDeleteI just saw this post for the first time. This finishing method is one I use most of the time. I just used it for 4 small tapestries (since sent to NGCSU for fiber show opening Jan 13) and the warp ran the long way. Whew. Waaay lotta work for such a small piece. Plus, it drew in enough on such small pieces that I may just want to use an alternate way in this particular situation. Mostly, tho, I LOVE the thinness and neatness and flatness of the finish for biggish pieces.
